The RYC™ method is a whole body approach to training your core and pelvic floor muscles to be more functional, responsive, and supportive of your body as a whole. It teaches you to move better, exercise more efficiently, and to unlock the compensation patterns that our bodies inevitably fall into during daily routine. RYC™ classes work to replace those compensation patterns with new strategies that help us to be stronger, more supported, and more mobile. Many of the moves come from yoga/pilates and emphasize breathing strategy and alignment. This program has proved incredibly effective in helping women to regain strength in their bodies after pregnancy and childbirth (both recently postpartum and years postpartum). This is not to say that RYC™ is only for postpartum women - the program's benefits are wide-reaching for individuals in all stages of life who want to learn about their bodies and move better.
More specifically RYC™ classes help alleviate symptoms from pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, lower back pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction, urinary urgency and incontinence and other core and pelvic floor problems. RYC™ classes are held in a group setting limited to 6 - 8 students. Classes are done as a series that meets weekly either 4, 6 or 8 weeks in duration. During a series expect to learn proper breathing, alignment and positioning to help unlock your patterns and restore core and pelvic floor. All RYC™ classes are taught by Michele Landis, ERYT 500
