The Monks of the Drepung Gomang Monastery perform Healing Chod Ceremony with The Monks of Drepung Gomang Monastery Sun, Jun 25, 2017 at 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
The Chod is an ancient Tibetan practice used for healing – on physical, mental and karmic levels. The word Chod means to cut or sever – cutting attachments to things that cause suffering – such as old traumas, fears, anger or resentment. During a Healing Chod the monks will use chants and sounts to assist in cutting the attachments. Participants should be prepared to lie or sit on the floor for approximately on hour - chairs, yoga mats and other props will be provided.
A) To make a contribution to world healing and peace by sharing unique Tibetan Buddhist teachings, sacred religious performances, chanting, and Tibet's unique identity treasures of culture and authentic traditions.

B) Recognizing well, and very deeply, that there have been great tragedies in every part of the world, we want to share our sympathy and prayers together with you as human beings sharing this planet and sharing the future of this home of ours.

C) To generate a greater awareness of the endangered Tibetan civilization and human rights abuses by the Communist Chinese since 1959. As the situation in Tibet is becoming more desperate by the day, due to massive displacement of Tibetans by Chinese citizens sent there by the Communist government, and ever new rules and difficulties, especially at the monasteries, we need your help now.

D) To raise support for the refugee monks' community in south India for proper food, improvement in health & hygiene and for providing better education facilities for the monk students. We preserve our tradition and culture
Suggested donation of $25 will go directly to the monks.

Just Think and Move with Joe Schaefer Sun, Jul 16, 2017 at 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
What is Nike's slogan? - "Just do it."  Going about your day unconsciously like this is very dangerous thing to do.  When we "Just do it" our bodies end up on auto-pilot and habits of movement and posture begin to distort us.  The Alexander Technique is a tool to avoid this.  It's movement and reeducation.  This workshop will explore the use of the body in everyday movements and its impact of your life.  Forget about Nike and "Just Think and Move."
Joe is an AmSAT-certified Alexander Technique teacher who wishes to make movement easier for everyone. After finishing his training in Baltimore, he moved back to the area where he currently freelances with the Alexander Technique, giving workshops at local universities for musicians and dancers. Joe enjoys making music, being a musician by trade and heart, and open water swimming.

Join Mare Cromwell for a rich afternoon learning about the powerful feminine consciousness behind the term “Nature”.
Indigenous peoples all over the world honor mother earth Gaia. Their medicine people can communicate directly with her. Come learn who Gaia is and her role in the evolution of our planet. Mare will also share ways to honor Gaia and how to be more connected with her spiritually. Most people have no awareness of the amount of Love that Earth Mother has for us and how healing it is be bonded closely with her. We will tap into that Love through ceremony, meditation, and discussion during the workshop.
Gaia is calling us to remember her and come back into balance on her. She wants us to come home to her. We can do this by our thoughts, actions and from our hearts. There is a New World birthing during these interesting times and we are all called to be midwives to it by reconnecting with Gaia.
